Easter is always an exciting time for Christians as we celebrate the resurrection of
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! What can we do now that Easter is over? Peter and
John give us an example in the fourth chapter of Acts. Pentecost had come and the
people were filled with the Holy Spirit. A great revival takes place and 5,000 were
saved. Peter and John are put on trial by the rulers, elders, scribes, Annas the high
priest and Caiaphas for preaching Jesus Christ and healing a lame man.
When they were put on trial Peter speaks with confidence and the elite religious leaders
are amazed at the confidence and power Peter and John possessed. These two
ordinary men had not been enrolled in the finest schools or trained by the leading rabbis
of that time. Although they had not been formally trained-they spent time with Jesus.
God uses ordinary people.
“Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were
uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as
having been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13
Why does God use ordinary people?
But god has chosen the foolish things of the world to
shame the wise, and god has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the
things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised god
has chosen, the things that are not, so that he may nullify the things that are, so
that no man may boast before God. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29
How do ordinary people do great works?
WHAT SHOULD WE DO AFTER EASTER?
SPEND TIME WITH JESUS AND GO TELL THE WORLD HE IS THE RISEN SAVIOR!!
